First Family D&D game in a long while, and the big possibly too hard fight I set up for the players ended in two rounds after @karinww.bsky.social did approximately 160 points of damage to drop the bad guy boss from 80% health to -1. SHE STILL HAD ONE ATTACK LEFT.

She was UNSTOPPABLY BADASS and it was anything you’d ever want from playing D&D. 😃😃😃

this happened to me when I ran a Curse of Strahd campaign, but to be fair I was hamming it up with a villain speech and it was the funniest way to end the campaign

Awwww haha! Best laid plans, and such. You know, as a DM I don't really give the bosses actual HP. I just go by the vibes, adjust my descriptions and narrations on the fly, and let the kill go to whichever player seems to need it most. Not that THEY need to know that

INSANE. I was thinking of playing as a bard in my next BG3 run, but the satisfaction of being a humanoid bulldozer might be hard to beat.

Action Surge on a battlemaster fighter? so many dice...

That was indeed what happened. Attack, Tripping Strike hit, Attack with advantage and hit twice, ACTION SURGE, and for her NEXT three attacks, two were crits and she didn't need the third.

TWO CRITS IN A ROW 😃😃😃😃😃😃

The fact that there was another enemy in that fight, invisible and preparing to ambush the two casters, who watched you do that to his boss and went, "Actually, wait, never mind," was kind of hilarious.
