Sure, Hieronymus Bosch's little guys were probably, in part, the result of ingesting moldy rye but you can't tell me this one isn't his OC. He's got a backstory and everything. If you spoke to Bosch's spirit, I'm positive he'd say "That's Sir Squeeks, he's my favorite. He's from Mouse Town."
