Honestly I think her height was part of why she was so popular (or at least so omnipresent) - "cute little old lady talking about sex" is a lot more appealing and could be worked into popular culture easily. It's a bit weird, I'll admit, but I do think it's part of the celebrity.

the Met Opera HD broadcast of "Ariadne Auf Naxos" because she was the same height as her tenor, who is 6' 2" or so.

I think it was part of her charm. She was adorable in every sense of the word. Also interesting that she was security in the Israeli army. (As I was AF security and only 5”5”, I thought about that a lot. ) When anyone tried to question my authority, I thought of her, honestly.
