In the interest of cheap and dirty I was gonna manage it with wire feed and stick out

@patrickherd.bsky.social I hate it. It's great lol. Going to have a bit more of a play with it once I buy argon instead of argoshield (it's all work had laying about)

Janky wheel alignment rig. I'd take it to a shop, but every time I get an alignment I immediately need to take the car apart again. So learning to get it nearly perfect myself for once.

Made a janky crane for work. Somehow this is better than what they had previously.

Charade was too comfortable anyway.

Cleaned up the brake hoses. Dropped it down another 30mm cause it was a tad high. And no I'm not dumping it on its guts. That's for silly people.

I just hold my breath. So I bet it is!!! Also your right. I ordered a cheap ebay spool gun to play around with. Thanks for the advice!

I hope they threw in a cool vest as well. That's why I hate too much PPE, it's very hot. But good you're using it!

My logic is, if you can't weld with an arc, you can't with a mig. That dosent mean you need to be a God, but stick teaches you temperature control. You can lay a cold good looking weld with a mig. You simply can't do that with an arc lol
Avatar
It sounds pretty intriguing but if I'm brutally honest, what I really need is an AC tig. Mig dosent offer me many advantages over arc welding at home. I'm not time pressured and I don't have to pull the whole spool out to change filler.
Avatar
Oh cool! I might investigate that further!
Avatar
So have I actually! But I don't know if the wave forms are different. Arc welders are voltage controlled only but mig sometimes have the ability to clamp current. Also power. Mig needs a shit load of power.
Avatar
I'd rather lay down on a meat ant next than succumb to gasless mig. Also i should buy a mig cause i sold my old one with intent to upgrade then got poor. regret.
Avatar
Last minute exhaust flex join replacement. Had to speed run it pass its rwc/mot. Ran out of argoshield. Had to finish it with the arc welder in situ hahahaha
Avatar
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

My father honestly believes this and I nothing I say can get the logic through this thick skull :/

It was slightly less clean on the coolant side. Little old lady who only drove it on Sundays.... Also topped the coolant up weekly with tap water.

Working on the world's ugliest Daihatsu for a mate. It's so clean it's like a museum piece! Even the interior is spotless! 30 years old! Daihatsu are built to last, but not in style xD

Finally achieved something at work. Don't worry it's just a drain that strong caustic gets washed into.
