Okay, so in 2367, when the Borg were about to assimilate Earth, the Borg Queen changed Jean-Luc Picard's genetics (aka, "star tresticles") so that IF the Borg impossibly failed and then another Starfleet captain got lost in the Delta Quadrant in 2371 and then traveled back in time from 2404 (1/3)
to use advanced technology to destroy the Borg Collective, the Borg could count on Jean-Luc Picard having a kid in 2381 with DNA that would activate latent Borg control systems in Starfleet officers implanted by a species discovered in 2371 and randomly tortured by a secret Federation (2/3)
cabal between then and 2375 and spontaneously escaped, contacted the Borg, and agreed with their plan for revenge. With those incredibly predictable elements in place, the Borg could then destroy the Federation and seek revenge.
Y'know, normal contingency planning.
If I was the Borg Queen, I simply would not take the last remnants of my collective & have them autocannibalize for decades while waiting for me to take my convoluted revenge. I would assimilate a random planet of helpless bipeds and start over. RIP to BQ-001, but I'm different. (4/3)
