re: meta tagging PS jpgs as generated using AI. Photoshop Export now tags images as being AI if Gen fill was used.
This is a blank white new document, with another blank white document placed into it, that had Gen fill used but then deleted. The tag follows documents as AI a bit heavily.
Unfortunately, tech bros are so desperate to make AI look popular and well used that they are forcing false labels to spread misinfo and make it look like that.
They are that desperate to keep investors sucked in funneling money into their scams as they fear collapse of their scheme.
That could be the reason, but it could also be a good faith effort to make sure the ai generated tag follows absolutely any ai generated content so that it’s harder to hide the use of ai in an image.
Beyond that, it’s probably hard to track what part of an image used ai while it was being worked on. Inserting an ai image and editing it is easy, but what about tracing over an ai generated sketch. Just because a user then removes the sketch after working off it doesn’t mean ai was no longer used
It certainly could be a malicious attempt to make ai seem more used, but this feels more like the best solution the developers were able to come up with to most accurately add an ai tag to images that used it at any point. Especially when more laws and places require disclosure of any ai use.
