Both Shape Lab and Nomad sculpting apps are coming to PC, so we're finally getting some good competition in high end sculpting apps. Blender is great for sculpting, but the specialized apps can do a little better, with better performance, and better update frequency.

Wall to wall union at Bethesda was not something I was expecting today, but great to hear. It's awesome how extensive it is too. Unions aren't perfect, as we've seen with IATSE, but they are a good step towards worker protections in this capitalist hellscape.

Who wants to bet the engineering, security, and QA teams on crowdstrike saw some pointless cost cutting layoffs in the last two years?

I have signed a book deal! The working title is “Interactive Narrative Design Across Media", and the release is planned at CRC Press/Taylor & Francis for 2025. It'll be a combo of research + practical guide based on our own experience with my co-author Anton Outkine and industry's best cases. 1/

For people that have worked on non-commercial game projects (e.g. Memoria Project) how did your team handle the legalities of it all between the team members? Was it just a verbal agreement? Did you all sign a mutually agreed contract? What did that agreement look like? #GameDev

Oh boy. They talk about this rallying people to him. But here's the reality: They were already rallied to him. All conservatives were already rallied to him, all the fascists were already rallied to him. This is powerful media, but the gains are not as significant as they think.

Once again I’m here to say that @support.bsky.team needs to give people the opportunity to lock their accounts, or else we’re just going to constantly lose people to bad-faith pile-ons and then the whole place goes tumbleweeds.

Considering that all the black cats I was interested in got adopted before I could, it's good to see the stigma of black cats is less than it was before.

Finally got Fuuka's super long back claws trimmed. She's taking to regular claw trimmings pretty well now and that makes me happy.

If you have a Secret Lab gaming chair, or any chair that feels slightly hard please for your health get an extra seat cushion. The padding is only adequate to start on those, and it can lead to a variety of issues as it wears out. #Ergonomics #Office #OfficeChair #HomeOffice

Today I learned: You can change a setting to make Firefox's Ctrl+Tab to switch between the last viewed tab, much like Windows Alt+Tab. 1. Go to: about:config 2. Find the setting: "browser.ctrlTab.sortByRecentlyUsed" 3. Set to true It also turns on some new UI.

A while back I realized no matter how much I improved my art skills, there are still far too many high level game artists still out of work for it to matter. So I focused on finding QA work, for now. But now that I'm back at QA, I'm glad I still feel that call to make art.

Barring any issues from the rescue, this girl here will be my new fur baby, and Fuuka's new buddy.

It's been a while since #Westworld, but does anyone else run through what if scenarios for Seasons 2-4 in their head to see if the series could have been salvaged?
