I've used macs for well over a decade and I've never understood the role of nor the prominence given to the ± § key on the keyboard. I understand § has some origins with printing practices (section break?) but that feels an obscure use case to warrant such a dedicated prime-position key.

Last month, I was walking in a Brooklyn park with my son when I got a text message that stopped me in my tracks. My friend Dave Schroeder was in critical care in a hospital in Minneapolis, and his doctors weren't sure he'd survive. 1/9
