I would be a terrible candidate for talking somebody down from a mental health crisis right now because I couldn't in good conscience tell them to stick around for what's next.
My own friends are basically telling me "I would personally prefer it if you'd stick around indefinitely for the abject horror of the immediate and inescapable future of the entire world. I would miss you if you opted not to participate in that."
I like them but it also kind of makes them monsters.
