So does this actually almost justify Macron's seemingly asinine move to call a snap election in the first place? I guess that depends on what his intentions were. If it was to retain his own power, massive own-goal here. But if it was simply to repel the Nazis then...yeah, kinda called his shot?
I mean he set out to preventing the far right from taking power, and not only did they not win an absolute majority, they didn't win the most seats, or even second most seats. For all intents and purposes, it was a faceplant for Le Pen and them.
If that's all he wanted then...fair play, I guess.
