You guys ever recall the classic Konami/Treasure games and admire just how action oriented and anime they were presented compared to other games at the time.
They had all these neat bosses that had a bunch of moving parts or somehow interacted with the environment unlike some games where it was just a large sprite that shot projectiles or moved in 4 directions.
