Sunset over the Orduña valley as the train crawls towards Bilbao.

“Passengers who are not getting off at this stop are requested to remain on the train” My favourite English announcement so far on the Madrid-Bilbao train, though “please do not trespass on the railway” is good too (in Spanish it’s “do not walk across the tracks”)

A gorgeous Purple Heron sweeps across the lake at #ElHondo. Amazing colours on these big beasts. Not long before they migrate, so many birds are going south into Africa already at the Straits of Gibraltar. #birds
