Can confirm. I bust my ass doing social media promo for my latest book but with nowhere near the same return. It's hard to build that groundswell of new launch excitement.

I understand that this is anecdotal and not research, but.
It is WILD how useless social media has become for promo. It's a fucking disgrace, really.
Social media has always just been something to do to waste time (too much of it) and share interests for me.
Sorry to hear that using it for sales/promo isn't the same anymore.
I've heard from some younger friends I have (in their 20's) that people are (thankfully) shifting away from the internet.
