If Joe really cared about the country, he’d fake his own death and have Dolly Parton replace him. Then he can live out his days with Hendrix, Lennon and Cobain on that hidden rockstar island.

just got out of the theatrical release of Run Lola Run and it was better than i remembered. this is an easy recommendation for #filmsky. if you haven't, check out this film. it's not long, not heavy, yet entertaining and gives you plenty to think about. (listen to it as loud as possible)

Why aren’t you reading an Andy Mascola book already?
Life isn’t always easy. I write stories to help make living more bearable. Ebooks just $2.99 US or the equivalent, paperbacks $9.00 US or the equivalent. All titles availabe in both formats, worldwide, via Amazon. When you buy a paperback, you get the ebook version for free. I’m also on Google Play.

Dirty Harry with babies. Cinema’s peak.
A Miami Vice-influenced cross between neo-Noir and over-the-top action, it’s the story of two cops—one an alcoholic detective, the other an undercover cop playing hitman—taking down some Hong Kong gangsters. Episode 147 - Hard Boiled sites.libsyn.com/398906/episo...

Pennies From Heaven could easily have a comeback if more people knew about Christopher Walken’s dance scene.
A sheet-music salesman’s life spirals out of control during the Great Depression, but that doesn’t stop him from daydreaming about a better life through song. Episode 146 - Pennies from Heaven sites.libsyn.com/398906/episo...

Thrilling bible holding scene in Footloose. Just watch the music videos.
In a world where dancing is banned, only one boy has the courage to stand up to the religious fanatics denying his magical feet. Or something. I guess. Episode 145 - Footloose sites.libsyn.com/398906/episo...

Kids are bored, parents suck, cops are psychos. Over The Edge was just what we were looking for. We can now tell you it’s 1000 times better than Footloose.
Bored suburban kids get into trouble, hassled by the cops until it turns deadly, and ending in an orgy of destruction—a pretty familiar American story, done exceptionally well here. Episode 144 - Over the Edge sites.libsyn.com/398906/episo...

Probably our best Lancelot so far, though it’s a pretty slim pickings so far. 2/3rds of a good movie.
We return to Camelot with a look at the 1967 film production of the musical. It’s an overly-long production that loses steam in its third hour, but the first two are possibly the best-looking movie we’ve covered for the show. Episode 13 - Camelot, Part II sites.libsyn.com/398906/holly...

A mysterous boy is adopted by a couple and soon shows himself to be unnervingly perfect. Is he really a robot? Maybe even a secret military project? Yeah, of course he is, this is the 1980s. It’s not great. Episode 141 - D.A.R.Y.L. sites.libsyn.com/398906/episo...

“My wife and I saw you across the bar and we really dig your vibe”. Love triangles! Death! Dogs (no dogs, sadly). It’s Camelot, lovingly pixelated by HBO in the early 80s, perfect for viewing on a small phone.

The last 15 minutes of Rock n Roll Nightmare will leave you questioning reality. This was just a lazy b movie promo for his band… or was it?
We finish “Dennis versus the movies” with a very silly Canadian hair metal horror movie wherein Jon Mikl Thor battles a rubbery devil. It’s the kind of goofy trash they used to show at 3 a.m. when we were a proper country. Episode 138 - Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare sites.libsyn.com/398906/episo...
