Has the North Atlantic "cold blob" left, taken a break, or is it just not that cold compared to the reference period?

That is a feature that is more visible in long-term trend plots (e.g., over 30 years), but not always in the monthly/interannual variability of surface temperature anomalies due to the regional influence of weather.
