When the bar has been set so low for so long, it’s almost giddying to have credible, experienced, serious people in cabinet and to be spoken to with respect and understanding.

Agree. I am cautious and sceptical about how genuinely Labour are going to effect real change, but to hear James Timpson as the new Prisons minister talk about prison reform made me feel quite emotional. The kind of discourse that should be the default but has been missing for so long.
