Good grief - I tried to guess what manner of regional creature a "cooter" was, and I was very wrong.

This was a cookbook in my childhood home - I literally have no idea how it got there. But it makes for an excellent “no explanation”
Good heavens I grew up with that cookbook (‘receipts’)!
We had it and I have no idea why! I am not from that region!
My mother was, and the house was full of things like that from relatives who felt sorry for her ‘having to live in California’. It’s a bonkers book - especially the punch recipes.
I have to see if I can find it. What I remember of it is indeed bonkers.
