Saw this on mastodon and it is fantastic. AI in medicine

it feels like the quintessential lesson of machine learning is you really really have to think hard about what's in the training set

People expect it to be finding patterns based on strong principles and things humans would think of or catch. Instead it just latches onto whatever in order to make the input mathematically reach the labeled expected output. Its fn ridiculous
