Fascinated by the mindset that leads to trailers announcing things like "From the producers of [x]" or "From the studio behind [y]". It's like they're targeting the film directly to shareholders rather than anyone who's going to buy tickets to the thing.

It does depend a bit on genre. Horror fans will probably know which studios make their preferred kind of horror. Dunno about other niches, but can see it applying in other smaller audiences. But agree the average movie-goer won't give the slightest shit.

This was inspired by seeing "from the producers of Jurassic World" on the Twisters trailer, which...yeah I probably would have just assumed that. Quite some distance from the Jordan Peele production credit on Monkey Man (like you say, that type has a point).

Oh god, yeah, that's just weird. On blockbusters it's always strange because I can't imagine anyone involved caring (surely shareholders must already have that info and I can't see it doing much to convince them to invest in future films that cold hard box office figured wouldn't?!)

Jurassic World made 1.6 billion dollars, and got an overall positive response from audiences. The franchise is one of the most recognizable in the world. This is pretty straightforward. The movie has a large audience. Adding this to the trailer is an attempt to entice as many of them as possible.
