I’m fascinated by large scale creative failures so I’ve been hoping to see a decent vid on Rebel M00n for a while, but most of them just looked completely cooked. Finally watched one today by a reasonable person but the comments were just weirdly vile, casually sexist and homophobic…

Was the meal that good or were you just the exact right amount of hungry when you ate it?

Fascinated by the mindset that leads to trailers announcing things like "From the producers of [x]" or "From the studio behind [y]". It's like they're targeting the film directly to shareholders rather than anyone who's going to buy tickets to the thing.

I had to bail on Dicebreaker when they started putting up AI narrated shorts so it's a shame but not a surprise to hear they're closing. Corporate probably wanted a content mill and I'm not sure that works for tabletop.

I'm absolutely gutted that Dicebreaker is shuttering, but it's utterly wild to frame it as an indie website. Corporate owned, often tabletop publisher sponsored. If you lack board game news sources, both @boardgamewire.bsky.social and @giantbrain.co.uk (via Brainwaves) do an astoundingly good job.

One of my favourite films, the 1973 original The Wicker Man, only exists in its original full cut because Corman had the foresight to save a copy of it in his personal archive. (Basically stealing it, as he was meant to return it to the studio)

It's not an exaggeration to say that Roger Corman will go down as one of the most important figures in American movie history. Countless legendary actors, directors, DPs, visual effects icons, composers, etc. got their start in some way via a Roger Corman B-movie. RIP Roger Corman

Don't worry. The solar cycle lasts 11 years, and it isn't even at maximum yet. The next solar maximum is due in July 2025, so we'll probably get more solar storms and aurorae over the next few years.
