The Democrats have so many achievements in generally trying to be successful stewards of the country. But what have they done to protect democracy, itself? Not a rhetorical question, I genuinely would like to know if I'm missing something.
I think the Dem leadership legit detests the Repub leadership. But they keep naively thinking they can protect democracy by never doing anything unprecedented or controversial.
I think there is an effect where Dem politicians feel they need to preserve their own seats to stay in the game, presumably to thwart future threats. Meanwhile, they keep conceding on serious present threats.
