Yes! The rampant travel is just guaranteeing more varied and possibly stronger, more evasive variants. Travel is not the leading cause of spikes in infection rates, not masking to stop the chain of transmission is. Lack of public health is really leaving some with no idea how this works, 4 years in!
Never claimed to be an expert, I’ve just been following the science & reading 4yrs worth of research. Travel doesn’t help, it means more people are mingling & spreading different strains but if people masked, you wouldn’t be infected to begin with. It’s not 100% effective but N95s are 95% effective
Every unmasked Covid-infected person breathing out infected air and every unmasked person inhaling Covid-infected air—regardless of where they’re coming from or where they’re going—as more of us are out mingling is the reason for spikes. If everyone masked, you wouldn’t see spikes in infection rates
