Sorry, that probably came out snarkier than I had intended. Something I’m working on. I mean — I probably don’t want to join another Slack, and I’m probably not eligible anyway, but happy to share my thoughts here if that’s useful in any way. (I did respond to the survey already).
Always happy to hear thoughts! I’m still forming my own. Putting it in a shared pdf just makes the crowdsourcing a little easier
Keeping it to the slack makes it so the link doesn’t get out to people who actively oppose housing. That defensive gatekeeping is annoying but, we’ve found, necessary
General thoughts are:
1. Excited to see Holmes Run/Dora Kelley/Winkler be connected, and especially new entrances to Winkler
2. I would like it to be made explicit that tree canopy should prioritize native trees for better ecosystem support.
But the big one, you can see from this map that the cooling effect of tree canopy is very closely tied to the proximity of trees. However the plan allows developers to plant trees in within Alex West, preference for same Focus Area if they can’t do it on site.
