Yah, the genre is distinctly militarized, I would like to see mecha that are more like forklifts which can transform into cargo helicopters

Like in Alien but with a helicopter? Anyway exoskeletons are being worked on in Japan as an alternative to other mobility devices. They're still tweaking them tho.

Yeah they're testing it with elderly folks and it's light use currently but it's mainly focused on improving health and outcomes in manufacturing and logistics but there's potential medical applications that are much further reaching like maybe being a supplement to/replacement for walkers?

I’m also thinking about the possibilities of limiting or totally eliminating repetitive stress injuries which lead to so many different kinds of disabilities
