Met this little guy on my honeymoon in South Africa a couple years ago. We almost walked right by it, but it was very insistent that it be heard.

Many people smarter than me have talked about the racial dynamic on this website, which imo is not an issue that is in conflict with the also existing transphobia on this website. So I’m just going to get a little iced coffee and keep it moving.
It's kind of funny how "common knowledge" varies so much from person to person.
I tell my wife Ruth Westheimer died. She says "Who?".
Later my wife tells me Richard Simmons died. I say "Who?".
Both of us were surprised by the other not knowing.
Crazy idea for someone who is richer than God: Prebuilt Magic the Gathering Decks, but printed on Mahjong tiles. Would feel so great to shuffle them, and draw from a wall of tiles, and hold your hand by just sitting them on the table.
I'm going to go back outside and read my book. Later, I'm going to get some sushi and drink some white wine. When it gets too dark to read, I'm going to listen to a podcast with my TV show crush talking about movies, while enjoying a warm summer night on my balcony with my flowers and fairy lights.
Really proud of myself for this. There are gaps and it's irregular, but I managed to average going to the gym twice a week since I started tracking it a month and a half ago!
on one hand, fine article. on the other hand, fair criticism. on the third hand, don't we want nyt to not be transphobic? on the fourth hand, he's a bad ally to block. on the fifth hand, the nyt sucks ass him too. on the sixth hand, we have won nothing. on the seventh hand, i'm running out of hands.
Holding a black man who writes EXCELLENT and helpful essays about democracy responsible for the acts of a heinous and hateful white woman so powerful at the NYT she was the *BOOKS EDITOR* for like a decade before becoming an opinion writer says everything about you and nothing about him.
i can't believe how long i used the google password manager instead of bitwarden. the difference is genuinely night and day in terms of utility and quality, but also now i have everything organized into unnecessary-but-satisfying folders which are pretty! this has been a nice excuse to clean up too.
Like, it used to be the case that when a mega-corp did something you really didn't like, well, cool, good news, there's alternatives. And folks can and did switch! All the time! But now a lot of tech is megacorps who aren't afraid if you leave, because, for the most part, you can't. They're too big
#JustFinishedABook Dreadnought by April Daniels. Well, this one was a lot for me. I'd been avoiding trans stories for a long time, and it turns out that finally working out why isn't enough for that visceral fear to not be in at least one way valid. (1/6)
Social media tickles my ADHD but also learning all the opinions of random people makes me hypervigilant and anxious about doing stuff wrong so it's impossible to tell if it's worth it.
kids these days should care less about being "left on read" when messaging and more about "left on red" illegal turns and other infractions against traffic regulations
