So many of the "inclusivity" and "diversity" lists being described often come across as people trying to purchase their way out through bigotry offsets.
I do know awareness and discovery need to happen, but once you learn of these creators you should be looking for more as a fundamental practice.
honestly hate that every time there's an industry bad actor, lists of "works by marginalized authors to support instead" start circulating like it's a moral obligation to be done out of guilt, & it's crickets every other day of the year. my art is not to be taken in as a reactionary measure
Also don't fucking do this shit.
When a marginalized person is revealed as a sex pest, nobody goes out and makes fucking lists about all the non-marginalized artists you're missing out on and can offset your past support.
