Glad to see I'm not the only person who came out of the cinema in '85 feeling gutted! If ever I saw a movie that got separated from its animating spirit and died in the hands of corporate Hollywood hacks, it was Thunderdome - or, as I like to think of it, Indian Max & the Temple of Lost Kiddies.

I enjoyed reading that again and notice that it's been quoted in a YouTube video from Matt Draper. That video also mentions Russell Hobain's complant about Thunderdome plundering his novel Riddley Walker. One of those I can see why he thinks that situations but I don't think it's a valid gripe.
