It’s been a wind up of a week for many. Looking forward to baseball and networking, and probably a few swings into some wider audiences. Also published: Being Attentive

Been a while since getting to DC Bike Party. Saturday times work out so much better for me. Good moments. Good convos. Good music. Good memories. Grateful for those who cut paths so that others can pave roads, and others still can travel however… thankful/hopeful flic.kr/p/2q3UaGq

Creating new habits is what I call this. Third week in a row, and my arms, shoulders, lats are yelling about this. Still think it’s a good mid-week thing. Not exactly a workout, but also a bit of “stay attentive to the flow” kind of meditation flic.kr/p/2q3mZ8k

Neat conversation at a local café… So refreshing when people ask my reasons for ditching the car in a non-urban setting. Many understand and then wonder why they choose to not do similar (reduced car use)… “if roads are habits, transit is behavior.” We can choose our behaviors

Maybe a few too many moments in my head… Riding a pricy British bicycle to the place the British burned and nearly messed up, where a song that elevates a flag was written, in a city that has a complicated relationship with race and economics… on Independence Day I might have broken “irony”

Relevant every time “emotional ai” comes up.
“Research has shown that some emotional AIs disproportionately attribute negative emotions to the faces of black people, which would have clear and worrying implications if deployed in areas such as recruitment, performance evaluations, medical diagnostics or policing.”
Are you 80% angry and 2% sad? Why ‘emotional AI’ is fraught with problemswww.theguardian.com AI that purports to read our feelings may enhance user experience but concerns over misuse and bias mean the field is fraught with potential dangers

Folks used to take pics like this w/the first gen iPhone and market it as an aesthetic. Then came filters which made it a scene. Now, such is called a computational artifact. My AiPin could play along similar lines eventually flic.kr/p/2pYQTon
Oh, Now That’s Differentflic.kr I remember when the iPhone came out and it’s camera was horrible. People would take pictures like this in Marvel and how the “mistakes“ turned into accidental art pieces. And then you had filtering pr...

Even though I was a little bit too busy trying to make sure the life jacket didn’t block the AiPin’s view. There were a few times out on the reservoir today that made me happy I had this. I’m not sure there is lot of water protection, but this is still a pretty neat

Bikes are great… local cafes which like your bike are great… warm days and a breeze to ride in are great… broken parts of the road that cut your tire aren’t great… owning spare tires & tubes are great… bikes are great

Biking in the middle of the day is really different. Pace is different. Folks dress differently. Less about getting there and more like a feeling of enjoying the moment
