I just listened to Sen. J. D. Vance’s floor speech in the Senate, and I think I am dumber. He said that a country that just lowered its draft eligibility from 27 to 25 has “Draconian” (pronounced wrong) conscription. (We are eligible for the draft at 18.)
He also said that like a million “military age men,” the common definition of which would include people 9 years younger than conscription age at the time, had fled Ukraine and asked how many Brits fled the UK during WWII “to avoid being drafted by the Germans”. Goddamn, it was dumb.
