3. Assuming no upsets, we are on track to have a Neko Case vs. New Pornographers match in the 4th round! (My bracket has Case losing to Deltron before we get to that point, though)

2. I definitely saw a 'bump' for soundtracks in the seeding round. That's likely because there are some voters who left them off their nomination list because of uncertain eligibility, but who were happy to vote for them when given the option. This effect may mess up my bracket strategy, we'll see.

Just submitted my bracket! A few notes: 1. To pick the winner of each match, I added up each album's nomination votes and seed votes, and the album with the higher total advanced. Where there were ties, I advanced the album with more nomination votes (which also meant the lower-seeded one).

Before I made each prediction in the runoff bracket I listened to a few tracks from albums I wasn't familiar with. This served me well. That will be rather time consuming this go round but I must prevail. I must win. I must force a prog metal album into one of these.

I've seen 16 of the bands/musicians in the bracket in concert, but of those, there's only one head-to-head matchup in the first round: Neil Young (the last one I saw live) vs. !!! (my contest winner pick). Tough break.
