A decade of millennials learning to download an app instead of learning their local bus routes is going to bite us when their kids grow up

Just got an ad that was like "tired of shuttling your kids to all their friends' houses and extracurriculars? Try Uber for Teens!" and hear me out but what if we just had good public transit instead

I want all millennials and their kids to download the transit app! I don't know all the local routes but it's hard to take transit without memorizing at least a few lines. For everything else, good transit planning via the app is there! I have used it in a few cities too, and always am impressed

That’s the irony, it’s easier to take transit than ever if you have a smartphone

I didn’t use the bus till well into college! there weren’t bus routes where i grew up that i could use! I figured it out. I also have friends who id consider smarter than me and they say the bus is “too confusing”

You get a pass if you grew up without transit. And by that, I mean a bus pass.

PLEASE! Learning to use the bus is an important life skill

I think so, and I have taught my kid to use it and none of her friend’s parents will let their kids take it. :(
