Has anyone done an audio book recording for a graphic novel? Essentially describing the panels as well as the dialogue?

Ok that’s exactly what I was envisioning! Thanks

It's a great audio book ! --- but I don't remember it describing anything that would specifically be panels of a graphic novel. I might be misunderstanding how you mean that though. I think the Whispersync version (if there is one) might do that.

Oh interesting. I am *pretty sure* the type of audio described exists, and I just assumed it was the official audiobook. I’ll try to dig some more.

I would expect it to exist -- and some of the full cast audio books do also use foley effects, but I don't know that any describe the art panels. I had listened to the sample of The Sandman & it didn't reference artwork.

Sometimes extra layers of narrative scaffolding/framework or “connective tissue” are scripted to better serve the story in the audio medium & illuminate visual details auditorially. Check out the audio books of (my client) Sarah Sax’s PICTURE DAY and TRYOUTS against the print versions as examples.

GraphicAudio (graphicaudio.net) has done some graphic novels, but they're dramatizations, so may not be quite what you had in mind.

I'm not sure if it's what you mean so much as they took the same story/script - originally a graphic novel - and adapted it to audio, but the old Star Wars Expanded Universe story Crimson Empire had an audiobook version. Originally it was a Dark Horse comic.

Neil Gaiman’s Sandman is an audiobook on Audible

I haven't recorded it, but I've done it as a live reading event.
