Okay. I THINK I have figured out what I should actually be applying to for jobs, and it’s probably a “no, shit” response if you know me. I got caught up in the fact that it came easily to me, and I thought I should be trying to do something that didn’t fit with what I’ve done, if that makes sense. 🤦‍♀️

I got asked at the grocery store if I could turn the heat down, probably because I was shopping in a wool sweater. But, to be fair, the room I’m working in runs cool even without air conditioning, so I’m always freezing at work. 🤷‍♀️

I just sent an “I’m sorry, can you explain how ‘supplies last’ when it’s a discount for a preorder on a book” email. And is it my fault or their fault that I never close internet tabs so the deal was still showing when I went to place an order on Friday and got an error message?

I thought I could just go ahead and get a cheap jacket while saving up for a quality new one, but unless it’s like a fast fashion store, coats are usually like $200 to start. This is what happens when a $30 coat from a cheap teenager brand store lasts 10+ years. 🤦‍♀️

I have realized that I have become very neutral in what I say on the internet after one Twitter mutual argued with me to “think about the people who drive truck’s feelings” when I had expressed annoyance about Ford 150-types driving within city limits.

I’m doing a bench today that I haven’t done on a regular weekday since last July (I’ve done a random one-off day shift, weekend, or stat holiday). And this is because I’m replacing someone because they’re doing training. Let’s hope I remember how this bench works (it has changed so much since). 🤦‍♀️

I realized that I forgot to add a book to my order that used my birthday discount, and now I want to use an indie bookstore for the preorder, but I also don’t know if the indie bookstore I would PREFER to use will still be open in June 2025, given that a version of it closed in January this year.

One of these days I’m going to not eat dinner at like 9 pm. Today is not that day. Sigh.

The question of the day is how does one do structural and substantive revisions to a paper that was intended to receive a particular grade while working within the constraints of that instructor’s expectations. How much can one change before they change the intention of the paper?

I keep opening my other internet browser and seeing the editorial notes for my paper. I…really need to get on fixing that. 🙈

I don’t know what it says about me that my resilience story was about us being almost a week behind on entry because the new data entry system didn’t work. But the time a fibre optic cable was cut so 30 collections sites couldn’t enter their samples was worse didn’t get used for the story.

I have fallen down a rabbit hole of research where I have learnt things I didn’t necessarily want to know. But this particular piece of information is making me “and I must scream.” How did this organization even function before this point?

I love how my coworker’s and my first thought at hearing that the Oilers are going to the finals is to try to figure out when the game starts so I’m not stuck trying to get home from work.

I’m reading a mandate letter and it says “to deliver on our platform commitments to support Albertans.” I’m like, what platform? I literally asked the UCP rep for my news story what his platform was 4 weeks out from the provincial election, and his response was, “we’re still finalizing the details.”
