This is a lovely turntable!

It was slightly miscalibrated, so tracks closer to the spindle had a regular crackle - now when I listen to anything from that era digitally, my brain expects to hear the same crackle, weird.

🤣... all important to get the tracking weight and bias set up correctly !

I 'upgraded' to one of these (which I still have), sound quality was OK but the mechanism was brutal

I didn’t know Garrard were still going. I had an SP25 Mk2 as a teenager in the 1970s.

I guess they cost the box in mint condition 🤷‍♂️

The price of old hifi is crazy these days. Last year I sold a 1980s Linn Basik Plus tone arm for £190 on eBay. The turntable originally cost £220.

Was it because they played them on the Bear, cause that was a WTF moment for me. In the 90s 4AD had a 10 disc bundle I gifted to my then goth GF.

Actually I don’t think so- she said that Deezer suggested them. I’m a huge 4AD fan - they just had great taste in picking bands This Mortal Coil, Breeders, Dead Can Dance, Throwing Muses. All class.
