Cynicism at the level I am seeing from some large account on the left right now is not the way to do anything but hand fascists out future on a silver platter. Sometimes pragmatism and building in time to do more later is the only way forward.
5 years ago, I sat in a doctor's office and they told me if I didn't stop drinking, I was going to die. If I stopped, I might live for six months.
One day at a time, making changes that I didn't think would save me but that would at least give me a chance to see tomorrow. One more day is precious.
I'd never expect someone who hasn't been that close to death to realize it but sometimes surviving until tomorrow in hopes that you have a better chance then is a win. Survival is a victory in the face of a world that want's to destroy you.
