Every time I remember that Kimono My House exists and that I can go there, it's like a tiny gift. It's basically a warehouse full of anime and tokusatsu goods from the 70s and 80s, as well as unique shirts and posters from when the owner licensed the stuff before anyone in the US cared about anime
Wait… Kimono My House STILL EXISTS?!
I remember getting into anime/manga in the late 80s/early 90s, and them being one of the places I could mail order from along with Nikaku Animart, something out of UC Berkeley, and others.
I didn't even need 2 weeks to go back to Oakland and Emeryville. Dag nab it Brackt. You are driving me to financial ruin! Or is that the cute stuff's fault? That must be it. Ha ha ha!
KMH is great, I don't get there nearly often enough. I bought a number of shirts and other things from them at Fanime before they stopped dealing there around a decade ago when the husband passed away. I'm glad to hear she and the store are both still with us.
