It's a very odd series, I like Warren Ellis as a writer but it's clear he didn't know how to pace this sort of thing.
Season 3 was apparently such a disaster because he had beef with Adi Shankar. Season 4 basically dismissed what it set up.
I like it but it feels like a really high budget fan project that got out of control. Season 4 particularly has a lot of cool animation but the style has this inconsistent feel to it, almost like a collab.
I never watched season 3 and lost all interest after the Warren Ellis situation, but honestly even without that I felt like season 2 was way too long and a lot of plot setups fell flat
