The Greta Helsing books by Vivian Shaw! Trilogy starting with Strange Practice - doctor to the supernaturals of London, then someone starts making hits on her clientele...
Seriously absorbing worldbuilding and characters, will make you think about vampires in a whole new way.
My paladin of Ishtar is loud, reckless, a bit dim and definitely not very well-behaved but by the goddess you better believe she cares about public wellbeing, and that includes piblic health. *Especially* natal health, given that Ishtar is a goddess of motherhood.
I never did learn to tell when someone was messing with me. I eventually had to tell my stepdad not to talk to me about any kind of conspiracy theory for that reason.
on a related note, where would one get cute but not lacy underwear these days? The five-packs I buy are comfortable but I'm SICK of black and white and pastel pink. I want cartoon prints. UK based preferred, help a friend out?
Honestly k-poppies like other things too! I get a lot of positive feedback about my cats (because, I mean, cats) and my sewing. People like seeing what makes other people happy!
lol I always imagined his friends talking to him all, 'Look, Joe, *you* call yourself the space cowboy, nobody is *ever* gonna call you the gangster of love. Maurice, maybe - oh, god, now you made it creepy. Nope, I'm gonna call you Creepy Joe till you die now, that's what you're stuck with.'
I've found that I can make positive change in my immediate world by being a determinedly cheery presence and actively working to distract people from whatever's getting them down at the time. It's hard work sometimes, it takes a lot of time but I'm definitely seeing results and it's not thanless!
It's an American term but it's come to mean a tortoiseshell and white cat. Both of ours are calicos but one has more white than tortie and the other is mostly tortie with white underparts, holey stockings and ruff.
Oh man, I have so many people asking if my calico is a maine coon, simply because she's long-haired. She's currently the heaviest she's ever been at 9.5lb. She's *literally* an alley cat, my brother's housemate found her in an alley in the rain when she was a kitten. And we love her.
I've seen it in a cpl of different places, with the cat blessed by Mohammed, Jesus or Buddha, or a cpl of different prophets/saints. Usually it's because the holy person cut off part of a garment to let the cat sleep and the cat showing gratitude, but the cat killing a snake is also there.
