Tried to put my feelings into words, so here it is:
First time ever I was out acting openly with a boyfriend, in front of my family, and folks close enough to be family.
Never a hint of judgment or discrimination, all of them loved Evan. Legitimately a feeling I’ll chase for the rest of my life
I am so incredibly happy for you. That's what family should do, and it's a shame every time it doesn't happen.
This is why I have always held the position that as long as my kids are in safe, healthy relationships I don't care who they bring home.
I have known and known of too many Alabamians whose lives were ruined by being unable to acknowledge who they were, even to themselves. You honor them by loving without shame or fear. Or in other words GO OFF SON, GIT IT
