Something that's starting to really annoy me is headlines claiming that AI is "doing" things, like denying people healthcare or detaining sex workers at the border. No, people are still doing that, they're just using AI specifically to avoid being blamed for it
If we are only allowing management decisions by those we can hold responsible, someone needs to seriously rewrite the legislation that governs corporations.
I saw someone argue that you could think of corporations like very primitive AI made from the actions of lots of individuals. Just about as accountable really
You would think the middle management and consultant class would be more alarmed their jobs of obfuscating unpopular opinions are being automated faster than real labor.
Except, holding a C-suite executive responsible for the consequences of their corporate decisions is so rare that when it happens it is a front-page news story.
don't forget the back:
THE COMPUTER MANDATE

A MANDATE WITH TOO LITTLE AUTHORITY DOES NOT
PROVIDE THE TOOLS REQUIRED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE
OF THE LEVERAGE
A MANDATE WITH TOO LITTLE RESPONSIBILITY
PROVIDES TOO LITTLE LEVERAGE FOR THE RISKS
A MANDATE WITH TOO LITTLE ACCOUNTABILITY IS
AN ELEGANT FORM OF SUICIDE
