my grandpa was the best, kindest man I've ever known and I am lucky enough to be named for him (my middle name is Emilia, his name was Emilio) :)

my grandpa passed in 2009 but during his lifetime he helped found an orphanage in Piedras Negras, Coahuila and every year my family would spend a weekend diligently sorting, portioning and packing up bulk food that he would then drive down and give to the sisters at the orphanage

Your grandpa sounds like my papa. 19 years ago this month, my dad died.

Absolutely he was. He put both brothers through university and supported family back home in Bangladesh before he was married. He taught me to be kind, and I hope for a scintilla of his grace.
