I don’t like this expectation that when a post goes viral, it has to be held to the same standards as a manifesto, and not just an off the cuff observation. we’re just people making little posts.
honestly I'm not sure that's something that can be escaped
at a certain level of "enough people have seen your post" some of them are going to be pedantic weasels about it no matter the context
i do think the personal branding is a factor like i’m
only ever on reddit to find product reviews/how to fix x problem/boss fight but it doesn’t seem to be a thing on there
reddit is an interesting case in that usually you are better able to compartmentalize your audience and avoid breaking containment
but "this post hit r/all" is a dumpster fire the same way any escape velocity twitter/bsky post is
“one in a million events happen all the time at internet scale”
That said, I recently thought about red teaming a post as I was typing it and then was like “screw that, just gonna block any who show up”
