Yeh, I saw the date, knew from you it would include a cat and without looking at the content knew it would be a religious satire. Pretty much every non-portrait European engraving from 1525 - 1580 has some political/religious twist to it. Engravings were the memes of that era

Oh wow. Funny that she uses a fish to lure the cat, instead of meat (Fleisch). But the fish is easier to recognize in lineart and has more Christian connotations as a symbol. (I wasn’t aware Fleisch was once spelled with ai, but I assume that’s a rare case of German having been more logical once😂)
