Well said. I am right there in lockstep with how your wife reacted. I’m not quite as pessimistic as you (I don’t think democracy is over if Trump wins), but I agree that we need to saddle up and win this damn thing
Related: we have a lot of power as a voting bloc, even without a majority. Specifically, I keep thinking back to the fact that Biden-voting counties account for 70% of GDP. Whether through active boycott or taking resources out of circulation and into causes, we can exert pressure that way
yeah i can imagine the public backlash being so severe that dem-aligned groups can push back against a second trump administration. i just don't want to play that game.
