It's interesting. Politics podcast I follow (Oh God What Now) was saying most papers would lay off smearing/bashing the obvious incoming party or risk losing any kind of privileged news access but Tele and Mail seem to be doubling down in a kind of panicked frenzy.
Presumably they know they will lose their current direct hotline and practically all political influence, so there is a perceived 'attention benefit' in slating labour now in any way they think could stick.
At least it’s made them think about it. I’ve had an ongoing “debate” on FB with the chair of a Conservative Association about it. He’s suddenly gone strangely quiet.
Ludicrous. As a longtime supporter of electoral reform, I have zero sympathy for anyone on the right who suddenly turns against FPTP when it no longer favours them.
Oh you do. Katie Hopkins made her way to the US and is on the maga bandwagon, and no doubt she’ll return.
Apologies for the Twitter link

Again, did any of our strident Rightwing media (ie most of our media) have a word to say about constitutional caution, elective dictatorship, the role of opposition. No, their puppets were in power and anything went.*
*except public health.
"Destroys the case for first past the post". For years they've been telling us it delivers "strong and stable government". It then does precisely that and they start whining. Ha, ha, ha! 😆F*** you. If they start begging for PR in the next parliament that will be a sight to behold.
