Uh oh... The lobbying push for KOSA (a bill which purports to protect kids but will instead censor LGBTQ info from the Internet) is ramping up. www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-... If you belong to any of these orgs, please tell them to stop supporting this trash.
200 groups push Congress to pass Kids Online Safety Act in 2024www.nbcnews.com In a letter obtained by NBC News, the American Psychological Association and other groups encouraged Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to introduce the bill in January.

One of the people behind this push, @kylemorse.bsky.social, is here on Bluesky. Please (politely) let him know how you feel about censoring LGBTQIA+ content online. If you're on Twitter, the Tech Oversight Project (@tech_oversight) and Fairplay (@fairplayforkids) have accounts. Please be polite!

PS: It appears @kylemorse.bsky.social hasn't posted in a month. Unfortunately this is one of those cases where Twitter is still the only game in town. Contact both orgs here as well: techoversight.org fairplayforkids.org Please make your voice heard. And *please* call your senators!

the article doesn’t include a link to the letter or a list of the orgs

Absolutely appalling to see orgs like the American Psychological Association on here, I'm sure they're more conservative than I would have guessed but like you guys have all the info, you know what's going on here

I believe this is the letter (pdf):

It's like the end of Killer Klowns in Outer Space. "It's over ... isn't it?" And then the theme song kicks in and you realize, no, it isn't over.
