It should be perfectly normal to talk about politics on a major non-political platform when a political program is designed to take over so much of our lives. Some will call this extremism, but it's pure citizenship.

context: the owners and executives of major news platforms consistently reject any public interest ethic in favor of distracting & deluding infotainment. & then came Trump & a collapse of GOP & chamber of commerce resistance to the fash right

That's why something like this can be so effective. Literally taking control of the microphone. BET Awards aren't a big enough stage by themselves but it's a damned start.

Hope to see something similar on MTV and Nickelodeon (is that still a thing?). I recall MTV not shying away from politics.

i left it in the mid 90s. they're just a spam channel anymore, forcing cable subscribers to fund it
