I wonder how many incredible and innovative inventions exist that will never see the light of day because massive conglomerates hold a monopoly on their respective industries and choke out any competition before it can even get off the ground.
I'm raising money for Versus Arthritis, a UK-based charity researching arthritis and providing support to people with arthritis and those close to them, by taking part in the March Knitting Challenge 2024.

Another progress photo of my Navelli top. I completed the lower body, split for the armholes, and finished the front side. At that point I was about two thirds through the back side.
This is both my first jumper and my first fair isle project. I'm so happy with how it's coming along.
🧶
Fourth time's the charm!
I was finally able to successfully begin my Navelli jumper. I had to knit the ribbing flat, transfer to the larger needle, join for the fair isle, get 2/3 rows in only to find my knitting style unscrews cables, order and transfer to a new cable, and now I'm good to go. 😂

Tea delivery day!
I started a tea subscription with Brew Tea Co when I ordered the teapot set, but I chose to delay shipping the tea while I tried to drink my way through the wall of tea (all boxes of various supermarket teabags). I'm definitely not going back to those.
And I had to restart my Navelli 🤦🏻♀️
I got through the bottom ribbing, did the first row of the fair isle part, then realised I'd somehow ended up with too many stitches so the colour chart didn't line up. Oh well I guess...
🧶
I've started another project.
I've just cast on the Navelli jumper by Caitlin Hunter.
I'm using Fleurville 4 Ply by The Yarn Collective in Peony, Rose, and Carnation. It's a lovely 100% merino yarn in natural, floral colours.
I hope I have enough yarn; I think Lovecrafts is phasing it out.
🧶
Woohoo! I managed to get a ticket for the Stardew Valley concert in London in April next year! It was tough; I logged on at 10 on the dot to try to get one, got put in a queue of nearly 300 people, and most of the seats were gone already.
I realised I forgot to post photos of the Virus Shawl when I finished it.
It took me a little under two weeks to finish it, using a little under 1000 metres of yarn.
🧶
So, I got a Brew Tea Co tea subscription for Earl Grey. I wanted the tea for one kit, which was actually cheaper to get if I got it as part of the subscription. I love it so much.
I'll see if I drink enough tea to continue with it. I signed up for quarterly tea delivery so it should be fine.
Cis allies: your trans friends need you to step up. Yes, even in the UK.
The transphobic rhetoric coming out the Conservative conference will probably never make it into law, but the damage it does is huge.
Please. Push back against friends with "reasonable concerns". Make transphobia unacceptable
Strawberry slush with tapioca pearls from the Teasco stand at my local Chinese grocery shop.
I'm not sure how to feel about it. In the picture on the menu it looked like a fruit smoothie, but I think this is a slush made with the strawberry milk tea mix. Tasty but not what I expected.
I finally got around to taking some pictures of the finished Heirloom Collection Blanket.
Apologies that they're not great, my office doesn't have anywhere good for taking these kinds of photos unfortunately.

Game devs are tired. Writers are tired. Comic book creators are tired. Musicians are tired. Actors are tired. Every industry that produces media you love has been ravaged by a parasitic executive class who want to starve creators to feed some shitcunt's desire for a seventh house
I've started a new crochet project. This is the Virus Shawl by Julia Marquardt. The yarn is Orion Nebula by Yarn4You on eBay.
I've made two before. It's a simple pattern that feels refreshing after the more complex and fussy Heirloom Collection Blanket I just completed.

Am I the most popular account on here? No. Am I the funniest account on here? No. Do I have a good grasp of what’s going on and who I am at any given time? Certainly not. But do I try my best? I do not do that, no. Do I brighten people’s day? Also no. Is there a punchline here? N
After a several-hour-long do-or-die crochet session, I finally finished my Heirloom Collection Blanket by Cypress Textiles at just past midnight.
I gave up following the pattern for the border and figured it out from pictures on Ravelry.
I'm so glad I can finally mark this as a finished object.
