When I got my fallopian tubes removed as a response to Roe v Wade being overturned, I never envisioned that THIS was what I'd be avoiding in the future. This is terrifying!
I really don’t think most people realize just how hard the boot will come down if Trump and the Republicans win the election. Most people have never experienced the totalitarian surveillance state with the power to reach into their homes and minds at will they are telling us is their plan.

I was surprised at how easy the referral was to get, because if you haven't birthed any children, a lot of gynecologists will not refer you to a surgeon for sterilization. It's something I've always dreamed of, and the outcome is so rosy that I've nearly forgotten how terrible the recovery was lol.

The recovery was probably pretty standard, but it just hurt a lot for about a month, which required a lot of pain medication (gross) and rest.

I’ve never been so glad to be post menopausal but my god do I fear for my children

I feel the same for the people with uteruses who will not have access to the choice that I made. It's already hard enough to find a gynecologist willing to refer you to a surgeon if you haven't birthed any children and want to be sterilized.

The key word is “choice.” I was given one when I got pregnant 20 years ago, and now, that’s gone for my kids. I have worried about this day since 2000, but nobody took it seriously that Roe was in danger
