Vote for selectman, vote for school board, vote for fucking dog catcher
The thing I think we need to internalize is that voting is in fact a huge part of how you fix this problem. It’s just that I get the sense a lot of people think “voting” only consists of the presidency No, you have to vote in every election on every level. That’s how you start to change a party

Assuming you know anything about the candidates! I don't usually vote in school board elections, but before I moved, I tried to figure out who stood for what and it was impossible. No info on the web. I voted in the mayoral election against the incumbent, who won anyway, bc there was info.

Honestly yeah, this is a big problem I’ve run into in my own local elections. Candidates for more local races have absolutely dismal levels of info out there about their positions, it’s a serious issue and I’m not sure how to address it other than to encourage younger people to run

Younger in the sense of they’re more likely to grasp the importance of a strong web presence

And also good lord we need more Millennials and Zoomers to vote for

I was interested bc one candidate's mailer suggested she was anti-mask (this was in 2022) but I couldn't find info, and didn't get mailers from, most candidates. Felt like those w/o children or contact w/schools had no way of knowing anything.
